EFCC arrests over forty internet fraudsters

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC has arrested forty eight internet fraudsters from different locations of its Makurdi zonal office.

EFCC’s Makurdi zonal head of operations, Johnson Babalola, made the disclosure at a press conference in Makurdi in Benue State.

Babalola noted that of the number, thirteen suspects are being prosecuted while others are presently on various stages of investigation even as the commission secured separate three confessions from the suspects.

He said the zone was not relenting in the fight against the new face of financial crime commonly committed through Internet fraud as they continue to monitor those on FBI list.

Babalola added that the activities of the Internet fraudsters had severely affected the integrity of Nigerians doing their legitimate business across nations of the world.

The zonal head further disclosed that the EFCC in collaboration with FBI and Interpol would rid the country of internet fraudsters.
