Telecommunications Company, MTN, announces nationwide closure of its offices amid fear of reprisal attacks

Telecommunications giant, MTN, has announced the closure of all its shops in Nigeria.

In a message to its subscribers by MTN Nigeria announced the closure of its shops and the operation of only its online platforms.

Following the Tuesday’s mob actions on South African owned Shoprite in Lagos and Ibadan, security agents have manned South African investments in Kaduna State.

At the Kaduna MTN head office, in Abakpa area, a yellow coloured banner was sighted at the main gate, with inscription, ‘We Stand Against Xenophobia’.

While the office was not opened for business, armed men of the Nigeria Police on power bikes were strategically positioned at the office.
