Railway security staffs have been overwhelmed by angry passengers at the Idu train station in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
A correspondent who witnessed the incident reports that the passengers forcefully made their way into the station to board the train heading for Rigasa in Kaduna State.
Some of the passengers explained that they got to the station early enough to purchase tickets for the trip.
They, however, alleged that some officials of the station were involved in ticket racketeering and hoarding, an act that led to the rowdy situation.
A staff of the media team of Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Nafisa Bello, claimed to be ‘very busy’ when contacted to react to the accusations of ticket racketeering and hoarding.
