JAPANESE GOVERNMENT DONATES $329, 000 SUPPORT TO THE NIGERIAN ARMY TO FIGHT BOKO HARAM.

In its efforts to support the Nigerian Army in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency, the Japanese government has donated $329,000 to the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Center (MLAILPKC).

The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yukata Kikuta disclosed this during the inauguration of the Institutional and Human Capacity Strengthening support for the centre held at Jaji.

He said the fund will be used in updating of curricula on counter-terrorism, protection of civilians and prevention of irregular migration among others. In his address, Commandant of the centre, Maj-Gen Abubakar Tarfa said the centre has over a long period enjoyed cordial relationship and assistance from the Japanese government.
