Eight governorship aspirants in Zamfara state have called for the Intervention of the National Judicial Council, (NJC), over the move by the State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari to enforce the judgments of a state High Court on Zamfara APC candidates tussle.

Addressing the Media at the Secretariat of the Kaduna NUJ Council, on behalf of the group, Senator Kabiru Marafa said, “the Group of Eight is calling for the urgent intervention of the National Judicial Council (NJC) on the matter.

The aspirants including Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, the Zamfara state deputy governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakala, former governor of the state, Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, Rep Aminu Sani Jaji, Engineer Abu Magaji, Dauda Lawal and Mohammed Sagir Hamidu, under the umbrella of G-8 said, a novice application filed last Friday by Governor Abdulaziz Yari, seeking the interim enforcement of the judgment of a Zamfara State High Court on the tussle, was strange to the law.

It will be recalled that nine aspirants purchased the APC governorship forms for the 2019 general elections.
